We get lots of questions, let’s look at the most common ones!
Why should tartar be removed regularly?
It is recommended to visit a dental hygienist at least every 6 months to remove any plaque and tartar, as cavities occur easier in the invisible areas under tartar and plaque, and as a result severe gingivitis and periodontal disease can develop, which can lead to tooth loss.
What are dental floss and interdental brush good for?
Food debris and plaque in the gaps between the teeth are difficult to remove with a simple brushing. This can easily lead to tooth decay. In such cases, the use of an interdental brush or dental floss can help to get rid of plaque not only in the gaps between the teeth, but also along the gums.
Is the electric toothbrush better than the traditional one?
In both cases, the key words are technique and efficiency. Both conventional and electric toothbrushes can be used properly or incorrectly. Our dental hygienists will help you learn how to use such tools accurately.
How often is it recommended to change the toothbrush?
It is absolutely necessary to change the toothbrush every 2-3 months, since after that the efficiency of the bristles decreases. Old bristles can easily damage the gums, which can lead to inflammation and bleeding.
Why losing teeth is a problem?
In case the missing tooth is not replaced in time, bone loss can occur at the area of the missing tooth, causing adjacent teeth to tilt inward and the opposite tooth to move out of place due to the lack of proper resistance, and as a consequence the improper bite leads to joint problems.
How can I pay at your dental office?

Our dental clinic is located between the main gate of Lukács Thermal Bath and the Császár-Komjádi Sports Swimming Centre (in front of the former Malom-tó Restaurant). For our patients arriving by public transport, we recommend reaching us by the tram 4-6, or the HÉV 5 (suburban train). From the HÉV and tram stop (‘Margit híd, budai hídfő’) you can reach us walking. Or take the tram 17, 19 or 41 and get off at the stop ‘Szent Lukács Gyógyfürdő’.

It is worth scheduling the appointment as soon as possible, because our appointment schedule tends to fill up rather quickly. We recommend that our patients book the appointment at least a week before or for some treatments even earlier.
What should I take with me to the first dental consultation?
Panoramic X-rays or CT scans not older than 3 months greatly help the work of our dentists, but it is not a problem if you do not have relatively recent X-rays, because we can take the necessary scans during the consultation.

Trephination during root canal treatment is a procedure in which the alveolar cortical plate or the apical foramen is surgically perforated in order to release accumulated tissue exudate.
What is the immediate implant placement procedure?
Most of our patients prefer immediate implant placement. Immediate implant placement literally means, the implant is ready immediately. This quick treatment cannot be performed in case of dental problems like inflammation, low bone volume, or poor bone quality. However, if such problems do not occur, immediate implant placement may be possible. Get to know the procedure better!
