In my work, it is of paramount importance to communicate well and build trust with both parents and children to ensure a positive outcome. I always provide parents with detailed information about preventive procedures and, if a problem has already developed, about the treatment options. And I try to show children that going to the dentist can be fun, whether they come for a check-up or treatment.
But sometimes, despite our best efforts, a child is uncooperative for whatever reason. I have been involved in their care in awake sedation for over 6 years, which has given me an even broader experience.
To keep my little patients fresh, cheerful and patient, I spend my free time taking photos, reading, hiking and gardening.
